Circuit News

Here’s what is happening within our UMC Circuit currently:

9/23/24

Please consider supporting the West High Supply Initiative. This is a
way of providing items for students in need. The greatest needs are:
Tissues, dry erase markers, pencils, college rule notebooks,
backpacks (new or gently used) and healthy snacks (granola bars,
snack-sized bags of goldfish, skinny pop, fruit snacks). These can be
dropped off in the cart outside the Coralville UMC sanctuary. Omega
Dancel, paraeducator of West High is a member of Coralville UMC
and site coordinator for the collection and distribution of school
supplies. Omega’s contact is odancel@yahoo.com

Diane Spicknall from Coralville UMC is starting a card ministry. This
group will meet the first Thursday of each month from 4:30-5:30 pm in
the Community Room of Coralville UMC beginning October 3. If you
are interested in being a part of the group to assemble and possibly
design simple cards, you are welcome to attend. The purpose of this
group is to make cards to be sent to those in our congregations who
would benefit from a card. Diane’s contact is DSpick40@aol.com

Coralville
On Sunday, December 10, Coralville will showcase its annual Aisle of Lights, featuring miles of luminarias (paper sacks filled with sand and votive candles). The luminarias will line neighborhood sidewalks and are available for viewing by foot or car. In conjunction with this marvelous display, CUMC will once again offer a Soup Supper in the CUMC Community Room from 4:00-7:00 pm. The meal will be served by CUMC youth.
Come enjoy a bowl of hot, hearty homemade soup (choose from chili, chicken noodle, or cheesy potato) and a delicious dessert. This year we will offer both sit-down and carry-out meals. You can submit advance orders for carry out meals by email to office@coralvilleumc.org.  Please include number of meals, your preferred soup, and a contact name and phone number for the order. There is no cost for the meal, but proceeds from a voluntary offering will help to support our Youth Ministry.
