The Bike Ministry is a North Liberty community volunteer bicycle program that
repairs donated bikes. The bicycles are then given out to support children and
adults that have limited options for transportation in our community for social
networking or providing transportation to and from work.

In 2024 we gave out 100 bicycles, mostly to the NL Community Pantry and the Inside Out Re-entry program.  Also Shifting Gears, since 2009 has refurbished 1080 bikes and has diverted 31,000+ pounds of bikes from the landfill.

Hours: 4-6pm Wednesdays through August 2024

Donate:
We take bikes in all sizes and conditions to repair or use for parts. If you want to donate a bike you can leave it in front of the double door garage at the First United Methodist Church, 85 N. Jones Blvd, North Liberty at any time or during volunteer hours.

Volunteer:
Open Volunteer Hours every Wednesday night from 4-6pm through August!
Volunteers need no experience in bicycle repair.
We join together in helping one another learn about bike repair and maintenance.
